Death By Plastic: An Earth Day Poem

Death By Plastic: An Earth Day Poem

By Sharlyn Duprey Wells

I am suffocating.

Your plastic covers my nose; it’s wrapped around my neck.

Care was shown.

You preserved my life.

I am suffocating.

Your straw is deep within my nose.

The pain is severe.

You cared; but almost too late.

I am starving to death.

Plastic fills my stomach.

I cry in pain.

You did not care in time.

I am suffocating.

I am choking in plastic.

I am your only home.

Do you care?
